Black Sheep 2: Horror Sequel Gets First Details, Director & Star Returning

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with a soft spot for quirky, offbeat films, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation upon hearing that Black Sheep 2 is in development! Growing up in the ’90s, I vividly remember the unique blend of humor and horror that the original film offered, something that was quite refreshing amidst the slasher flicks dominating the genre at the time.

Black Sheep 2 is in the works.

2006’s “Black Sheep” (differing from the 1996 movie of the same name featuring Chris Farley and David Spade) is a horror-comedy film hailing from New Zealand. This film was penned and helmed by Jonathan King, with Nathan Meister, Peter Feeney, Danielle Mason, among others, in the cast.

Per Deadline, WTFilms is now moving forward with a sequel to Black Sheep.

What do we know about Black Sheep 2?

The monarch is back to helm Black Sheep 2, having co-written the script for the follow-up with Matthew Grainger and Rosie Howells.

Meister will once again take on the character of Henry Oldfield, with further details about the cast still to come. According to Deadline, Meister will work alongside some familiar faces from Black Sheep, as well as newcomers in the project.

In a fresh narrative, “Black Sheep 2” centers around a young, determined scientist who believes a deadly new disease poses a grave risk to humanity. She traces this menace back to her small-town home, which lies near an isolated sheep station where the chilling incidents of the first Black Sheep took place.

In this project, King and Grainger are collaborating on the film production, working alongside James Partridge and Samantha Braun. The roles of executive producers are held by Richard Fletcher, Philippa Campbell, Ari Harrison, and Jasmin McSweeney.

In 2006’s Black Sheep, currently available on Starz for streaming, we follow the story of Henry Oldfield (Nathan Meister), a man who is fearful of sheep and reliant on therapy. He returns to his family’s farm with the intention of selling it to his older brother Angus (Peter Feeney), unaware that there’s something sinister happening: Angus has been conducting irresponsible genetic experiments.

The filming for Black Sheep 2 is slated to start in New Zealand during the upcoming spring season. At this point, a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
