Hexed is the perfect ending to the Never After series

As a seasoned romance reader with over two decades of reading under my belt, I can confidently say that Emily McIntire’s Never After series is a gem hidden within the vast ocean of literature. Having traversed through countless novels, it’s rare to find a series that captivates me from start to finish, but this one did just that!

From the get-go, the Never After series by Emily McIntire captivates you just as a good romance does.

The series, titled “Hooked” to “Hexed”, offers fresh takes on beloved fairytales. In this rendition, Mary Robinette Kowal reimagines the tale of The Little Mermaid.

The “Never After” collection has been cherished by the BookTok enthusiasts for quite some time, and I eagerly awaited immersing myself in it. Reading “Hooked”, I was instantly captivated, and from then on, I devoured and admired every book that followed.

Since “Hexed” is the last installment, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! So, a big thanks goes out to Bloom Books and Leo PR for providing me with an advance reader copy (ARC), allowing me to delve into it ahead of time and share my thoughts in a timely review.

Hexed is a dark yet enchanting romance you won’t want to put down.

As a passionate admirer, I’d like to express my appreciation before diving into my review. The remarkable Emily McIntire has managed to create this book amidst a whirlwind of challenges, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to highlight it. Emily McIntire’s novels are a source of immense joy for me, and I can’t wait to share this gem with you all.

In “Hexed,” we follow Venesa, whose mother’s passing leaves her under the guardianship of her notorious uncle, Trent, based in South Carolina. At the novel’s outset, Venesa sets off to find her cousin, Aria, in New York City. During their time there, they accidentally discover a corpse, and Venesa instructs Aria to stay put and seek assistance.

In this scenario, Aria obeys orders and becomes engaged to Enzo, who holds a high-ranking position in the New York mafia. Initially, their engagement is purely professional. However, both Aria and Enzo are unaware of their true feelings until they encounter Venesa. From the start, they find it difficult to resist each other, despite understanding that their relationship could never work out due to the intense attraction they feel towards one another.

In other words, Hexed is such an engaging read that you won’t be able to stop till you reach the end. Even though it’s over 500 pages long, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one go. The numerous surprises and twists will keep you guessing, and author Emily McIntire has a knack for turning expectations upside down in an intriguing manner.

This book, titled “Hexed,” will leave you pondering the romance and connections, as well as the intricate complexity of it all. I couldn’t help but be captivated by this book and I have a feeling I’ll read it again sometime. The storytelling and forbidden yet appealing pairings crafted by Emily McIntire are truly mesmerizing. If you haven’t jumped into the “Never After” series yet, why wait?

Hexed by Emily McIntire is out now where books are sold.
