Why Fans Think Sony’s Agent Venom Movie Could Follow The Last Dance

As a longtime fan who’s been following the Venom saga since its comic book days, I must admit that the rumors of an Agent Venom movie have me both excited and skeptical. On one hand, the idea of seeing Flash Thompson don the symbiote suit is intriguing – it would be a fresh take on the character, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Flash.

After a recent buzz, fans are speculating that Sony Pictures might be developing an Agent Venom film. Given the release of Venom: The Last Dance, fans are abuzz with ideas about whether Agent Venom could be the next chapter in Sony’s symbiote series. Yet, it remains uncertain if Tom Hardy will return for the role or if a new direction will be taken. Consequently, the question still stands – is a Venom sequel truly underway?

Here’s everything we know so far.

Is Sony developing an Agent Venom movie after The Last Dance?

There’s been no formal announcement from Sony Pictures about making an Agent Venom film, but there’s a growing buzz surrounding the possibility.

The whispers about an Agent Venom movie originate from a tweet by @DanielRPK regarding Sony Pictures developing such a film, hinting that it might be set in Battleworld but not definitively confirming. Additionally, the rumor suggests that the release date could be before Secret Wars, although this has yet to be verified. Daniel Richtman did clarify that an Agent Venom movie is indeed being developed, but no official confirmation about other aspects of the project has been made by Sony.

The comics showcase Flash Thompson, also known as Agent Venom, taking on the main role. This character used to bully Peter Parker and they both attended Midtown High School. Flash was a supporter of Spider-Man. At one point, he encounters the venom symbiote, leading to his transformation into the title character. He possesses impressive abilities such as camouflage, superhuman strength, genetic memory, regenerative healing, and many others.

Titled “Venom: The Last Dance,” this film, released on October 25, is said to have wrapped up the storyline of the symbiote at Sony Pictures. In the final chapter, Eddie Brock and his symbiotic ally found themselves battling Xenophages and a covert military group. The climax sees Venom meet his demise, while Eddie carries on with life and grants his companion’s wish to witness New York one last time. However, a shattered vial containing a living Venom was shown in the post-credit scene. As of now, Sony has not disclosed any plans for further adventures involving this character.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m keeping my fingers crossed to see if Sony will indeed substantiate these whispers about Venom’s tale continuing with Tom Hardy or if they’ll introduce a fresh host instead. Only time will tell!
