Marvel Snap goes to Asgard for November's War of the Nine Realms season

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Marvel lore and a penchant for collectible card games, I must say that the upcoming War of the Nine Realms season in Marvel Snap has me absolutely thrilled! The introduction of Surtur, that flamboyant fire demon from Thor: Ragnarok, as the Season Pass card is just the cherry on top.

Following several months in association with alien symbiotes, it appears Marvel Snap is transitioning into a fresh dimension. This popular collectible card game is venturing into the realm of Asgard, Thor’s mighty abode. The War of the Nine Realms expansion brings new allies and adversaries for the God of Thunder, among them, a scorching season pass card.

This month, our spotlight character is Surtur, the ruler of Muspelheim, often recognized by casual film enthusiasts as the colossal fire deity who framed Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok. He harbors a desire to annihilate the realms, and his strength will escalate further with each passing day in November, as he becomes the Season Pass card for this month.

The following cards are coming to Marvel Snap for the month of November:

  • (3) Surtur (5) (Season Pass card) – After you play a card with 10 or more Power, this gains +3 Power.
  • (2) Fenris Wolf (3)Activate: Resurrect your opponent’s highest-Power discarded or destroyed card on your side of this location.
  • (?) Frigga (3)On Reveal: Add a copy of the last card you played to your hand. (If able)
  • (4) Malekith (6)On Reveal: Add a 1, 2, or 3-Cost card from your deck here, but don’t reveal it until the game ends.
  • (6) Gorr the God Butcher (-1) – Ongoing: +2 Power for each On Reveal card in play.

This season, two additional spots will be incorporated. Starting from Turn 4, Valhalla cards will reactivate their On Reveal abilities. Additionally, there’s Yggdrasil, where cards in distinct locations gain an extra Power point each turn.

In November rotation, you’ll encounter another card named King Eitri, priced at 1 cost and boasting a power of 2. His special Activate ability lets you draw a card from your deck that wasn’t initially there. You can acquire this card via the refreshed Deadpool’s Diner, set to start on November 21st.

The Marvel Snap’s War of the Nine Realms series kicks off on November 5th, Tuesday. Make sure to keep an eye on our Marvel Snap discussion section for all the latest updates.
