As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for gritty survival stories like The Walking Dead, I must say that the portrayal of Losang by Joel de la Fuente in Daryl Dixon was nothing short of captivating. His character’s complexities and the depth he brought to Losang’s journey were truly commendable.
Actor Joel de la Fuente debuted as the character Losang, head of The Union of Hope, in “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” during its initial season, which is a spinoff series. In the second-to-last episode of the second season, titled “The Book of Carol“, Losang encountered his equal in Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus). To delight fans, de la Fuente shared behind-the-scenes photos from that episode on social media.
If you haven’t seen the fifth episode of season 2 of “The Walking Dead” focusing on character Daryl Dixon, it would be best if you navigate elsewhere for this discussion.
Last time around, I found myself regrettably plunging a knife into Isabelle – an action that instantly brought the wrath of Daryl upon me, for Isabelle is one of the few women who’ve ever stirred romantic feelings within him. Shortly after we shared our first on-screen kiss, Isabelle, tragically, succumbed to the wound I inflicted.
In the instance referred to as “The Fight in the Catacombs” by de la Fuente, a sequence of images depicting his death scene were posted, with acknowledgement given to the stunt department for their skills. The first picture shows Daryl, holding a skull, and it’s evident what he employed that prop for – using it to crush Losang’s head. In this scenario, Daryl vented all his grief over losing Isabelle on Losang.
As a gamer, I can’t help but share some behind-the-scenes snaps from our action-packed series. There are my fearless stuntmen like Ludovic Faure and Josh Romeo, who have been riding shotgun with Norman Reedus for years. Not to forget Gaetan Caillot, a French master of mayhem, who lent his expertise in stunts for the show.
The video you’re watching offers additional insights into the confrontation between Losang and Daryl, while de le Fuente provides further details on how he prepared for his portrayal of Losang and the challenging fight sequences he was required to shoot.
Losang kills Isabelle
Daryl tends to keep his feelings hidden, and so far, he’s been reluctant to accept Isabelle’s passing. Both Carol and Laurent have attempted to discuss it with him, but he swiftly redirects the conversation. It seems that seeking revenge on the man who took Isabelle’s life was a way for him to cope with his grief.
Originally, Losang conceived the plan to make Laurent a symbol of hope, like a guiding light for others. However, this concept was misconstrued and turned into something harmful towards Laurent, which most of his followers disapproved. Fallou put it succinctly when he told Losang that if you feel compelled to demonstrate your faith through such actions, then perhaps your faith has already been shaken.
As a devoted admirer, I must say that De le Fuente truly excelled in embodying the complex character of Losang. However, with such an imposing presence as a villain, it felt inevitable that someone would eventually bring him to justice.
Afterward, he will be featured in the Korean spy drama on Disney+ and Hulu called Tempest, which is being made at present. You may have recently seen him in some of his roles like My Adventures with Superman, The Mysterious Benedict Society, The Good Doctor, Evil, and Devils.
