As a follower of Hollywood’s twists and turns, I must admit that I’m intrigued by Armie Hammer‘s comeback in “Frontier Crucible.” It’s been quite a rollercoaster ride for him, from the allegations in 2021 to the subsequent fallout and disappearance from the limelight. Yet, here he is, back on the silver screen.
Actor Armie Hammer is making his return to acting, as reported by Deadline. He has been given a significant part in the upcoming Western film “Frontier Crucible,” directed by Travis Mills. This will be Hammer’s first role in over three years since accusations of sexual assault surfaced against him.
2021 saw a series of allegations made against Hammer concerning sexual assault. Among these accusations were claims of rape, cannibalism, and BDSM activities. However, in 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office decided not to move forward with criminal proceedings against Hammer due to a lack of substantial evidence.
In spite of no criminal accusations, Hammer faced professional consequences: his talent agency dropped him, he lost his publicist, and multiple acting ventures were left unfinished. Hammer’s latest role was in Death on the Nile (2022), but Kenneth Branagh’s project minimized Hammer’s presence in promotional materials prior to its release.
Who is involved with Armie Hammer in Frontier Crucible?
In addition to Hammer, the cast of Frontier Crucible includes Thomas Jane, Myles Clohessy, Eli Brown, Eddie Spears, Zane Holtz, Jonah Kagen, and Mary Stickley.
The movie, as described by Deadline, can be seen as a blend of “Reservoir Dogs” and “Bone Tomahawk,” and it is set in the Arizona Territory during the 1870s. The story revolves around a man with a troubled past, played by Clohessy, who finds himself in an awkward partnership with a group of outlaws, led by Jane. Also included are a woman named Stickley, and her injured husband, Brown. Together, they must navigate the harsh environment and hostile frontier of the Old West to survive.
In my gaming world, I’m the one steering Frontier Crucible, inspired by Harry Whittington’s 1961 novel, Desert Stake-Out. David Guglielmo and Lillian Campbell are taking on the producer roles. Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk, working together under Bonfire Legend, are leading as executive producers. And if that wasn’t enough star power, Jane, Courtney Lauren Penn, Sefton Fincham, and Preston Poulter are also joining in as additional executive producers. It’s an exciting journey ahead!
A self-funded motion picture will start shooting in the coming month at Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona.
