Spider-Noir Set Photos Offer First Look at Nicolas Cage’s Costume

As a die-hard comic book fan who has lived through the Golden Age of superheroes, I can hardly contain my excitement over the leaked set photos of Spider-Noir! Ever since Nicolas Cage voiced this gritty, noir version of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, I have yearned for more adventures from this darker, detective-like Peter Parker.

Photos from the upcoming Spider-Noir series have been released, showcasing several thrilling action scenes and offering a sneak peek at the live-action costume that Nic Cage will don in the production.

Fresh snaps from the set, provided by TMZ and other film crews, showcase an action scene featuring a stunt performer donning the Spider-Man Noir suit atop an antique vehicle. In this sequence, Spider-Man Noir is depicted battling to remain upright on the car, followed by him pretending to shoot a webline onto it and attempting a daring escape swing.

In this series, Cage takes on the role of Spider-Man Noir, a character he previously provided voice for in the 2018 animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot share the role of co-showrunners. These two, along with Harry Bradbeer, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, are all serving as executive producers. Notably, Bradbeer is responsible for directing the first two episodes of the series.

What do we know about Spider-Noir?

This series unfolds the tale of a worn-out private detective, portrayed by Cage, living in 1930s New York City. His past as the city’s sole superhero comes back to haunt him, compelling him to confront his old life.

Excitedly joining Nicolas Cage in this upcoming project, I’m thrilled to share that Lamorne Morris from New Girl is stepping into the role of Robbie Robertson! Alongside him, we’ve got an incredibly talented cast that includes Brendan Gleeson, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, Karen Rodriguez, Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, and Amanda Schull. Can’t wait to see this amazing ensemble bring the story to life!

The upcoming television show, Spider-Noir, is going to debut as the initial series in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, a shared universe that started with Venom back in 2018. Since then, we’ve had Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), Morbius (2022), Madame Web (2024), and Venom: The Last Dance on October 25, 2024. Following this, there will be a release of Venom: The Last Dance, then Kraven the Hunter on December 13, 2024.

The start date for the Spider-Noir series is still under wraps, but it’s set to make its initial appearance on MGM+. Later on, it will be available worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
