As a long-time connoisseur of both fine Italian cinema and automotive masterpieces, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the latest development in the upcoming Maserati biopic, “Maserati: The Brothers.” The addition of Andy Garcia to an already stellar cast, including Sir Anthony Hopkins and Michele Morrone, is a testament to the film’s potential for greatness.
The Hollywood car spectacle is running at top speed right now, and the latest buzz is about the highly anticipated biopic on the Maserati family. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Bobby Moresco, the movie has already signed up Sir Anthony Hopkins for a significant role. Notably, Andy Garcia, an Academy Award nominee, appears to have joined the cast of “Maserati: The Brothers” in a recent update.
Andy Garcia cast to play a ‘central figure’ in Maserati: The Brothers
A cast member from The Godfather Part III is rumored to portray a significant character in the lives of the Maserati brothers for an upcoming movie about the renowned automakers.
Initial reports about Andy Garcia’s role in “Maserati: The Brothers” were shared by Deadline. According to their information, Garcia is set to play the character of Mr. Rossini, a person who appears to have played a crucial role in the rise of the Maserati brothers within the film. At the same time, Anthony Hopkins and Michele Morrone will portray an Italian financier and Alfieri Il Maserati respectively.
Producer Andrea Iervolino shared thoughts on Andy Garcia’s role in the upcoming sports movie. “Andy Garcia is an actor with immense talent and adaptability,” he said. “His knack for delivering genuine emotion and intensity in each character he plays makes his involvement in Maserati: The Brothers irreplaceable.” Iervolino continued, “His performance will only elevate the film’s prestige, as it showcases Italian ingenuity and zeal, and we are privileged to have him on our team.
The film primarily focuses on the tale of the three Maserati brothers: Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto. Known for their high-end automobiles today, this company originated from the competitive world of car racing in 1914. In the upcoming movie, Alfieri Maserati, portrayed by Morrone, tragically passed away at 44 following injuries sustained during the 1927 Messina Cup race, which marked Maserati’s debut Grand Prix, due to his participation in the event.
Filming for the project will commence in Italy in late November.
