Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is arriving in December

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours invested in the Animal Crossing series, I must admit that my initial reaction to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete was one of skepticism. The shift from free-to-play to a paid app seemed a bit jarring, but upon further reflection and watching the detailed reveal video, I’ve come around to being quite excited about this new chapter.

The upgraded version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, titled Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, continues the legacy of its predecessor with enhanced features. Compatible with iOS and Android devices, this Nintendo mobile game set in the Animal Crossing universe will eliminate some existing features, retain many favorites (including data transfer options), and introduce a plethora of fresh activities for players to engage in. In a comprehensive, 12-minute presentation, Nintendo detailed the exciting updates that await fans.

On October 27, 2024, Nintendo revealed the complete version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, now an app that can be played offline. Set to launch on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the game will retail at $19.99 USD. But from now until January 31, 2025, players can purchase it for a reduced price of $9.99 USD. Check out all the details in the video above.

Right from the get-go, there’s been a shift – this game is now a paid app. Frankly, I was used to playing for free, but Nintendo seems certain that the game’s worth the investment. On top of that, the updated Pocket Camp Complete no longer requires a continuous internet connection. That means I can play it without worrying about data when I’m on-the-go.

Nintendo recognizes that players have put effort into customizing their experience within Pocket Camp, so they plan to provide data transfer upon app purchase. This includes preserving all levels, bells, relationships with animals, items in your inventory and warehouses, camp layouts, and current and saved outfits.

Instead of Leaf Tickets, Pocket Camp Club, and interacting with friends through Online Communication, there will be some changes. In their stead, you’ll find Leaf Tokens that can be earned within the game. Moreover, various membership plans similar to Pocket Camp Club such as Merry Memories, Happy Helper, and Furniture & Fashion will become available.

In the midst of changes, Nintendo is ensuring there’s more excitement for players by introducing new features. Now you can stroll around with your chosen animal companion, customize your save layouts, adorn your planner with stickers, and even catch a K.K. Slider performance every evening at 7:00 p.m.

The entertainment continues when we introduce a bit of multiplayer interaction to the game. You’ll now have the opportunity to design a unique Camper Card that reflects your style, including your outfit, hairstyle, and preferred animal. Once created, a QR code can be generated for your friends to scan, allowing them to add your Camper Card to their collection. As you gather Camper Cards, those friends will start appearing in a new Whistle Pass location. This will enable you to interact with them, watch K.K. Slider perform, and possibly receive gifts from them too!

Absolutely, an Animal Crossing game wouldn’t feel complete without special events. The Pocket Camp Complete edition promises a four-year cycle of all past events, along with fresh new events and fortune cookies to keep things exciting. Players can collect limited-time items from the original game using Complete Tickets, which are earned through gameplay. To wrap it up, there will be one grand finale event in Pocket Camp to bid it a stylish farewell.

As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that pre-orders for the comprehensive version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp are now live on both iOS and Android marketplaces! Don’t forget to connect your Nintendo Account and synchronize it with your Pocket Camp games before the release of Pocket Camp Complete this December. Just a heads up, the base game of Pocket Camp is set to conclude in November. So, let’s get ready to catch ’em all, campers!
