As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for sci-fi and action-packed films, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming Predator anthology movie! With Dan Trachtenberg at the helm, who delivered an exceptional performance with Prey in 2022, this project is shaping up to be nothing short of extraordinary. The prospect of witnessing Predators going head-to-head with pirates and samurai across different eras has my adrenaline pumping!
A recent report from io9 suggests that the enigmatic Predator movie unveiled last week could potentially take the form of an animated anthology film.
As a passionate gamer, I’ve stumbled upon some exciting news: Apparently, the mysterious project isn’t what we thought! Multiple insiders have spilled the beans to Gizmodo’s io9 that this secret endeavor is an animated movie, and it’s almost like an anthology. Instead of one continuous tale, it weaves together three distinct stories, each focusing on Predators squaring off against warriors from different epochs. Rumor has it that one storyline might involve Predators battling pirates, while another could pit them against samurai!
At present, additional details regarding the forthcoming movie are scarce, with only the information that it will be helmed by Dan Trachtenberg being available. Known for directing the 2022 release titled Prey, as well as the upcoming Predator: Badlands, Trachtenberg is set to take the director’s chair for this unnamed project too.
What else do we know about the secret Predator movie?
20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell unveiled that a covert Predator movie, along with the already known Predator: Badlands, has been produced. This hidden film, as per Asbell, is one of several “extremely daring yet incredibly exciting” concepts that director Dan Trachtenberg came up with for the studios.
Following the achievement of “Prey”, Dan [Trachtenberg] returned and expressed his disinterest in making “Prey 2”. Instead, he proposed a series of eccentric yet appealing concepts. Asbell mentioned, “We’ve actually brought two of them to life. Two will be released next year. One I can’t reveal details about, but the other is the live-action “Predator” movie featuring Elle Fanning, which recently wrapped in New Zealand. This film will hit theaters sometime next year.
