During our Plus One studies, we were asked to write the Malayalam alphabet. I was perplexed and ended up missing some letters on my work. The girl sitting directly in front of me looked self-assured after completing her task. She is none other than Lidiya, the central figure in this narrative. To spare myself the embarrassment of an incomplete assignment, I asked if I could borrow her notebook to copy the alphabet. From that moment on, I became smitten with her and followed her ardently. One day, she returned my affection. We were among a small group who exchanged love letters as our primary mode of communication.
