As a longtime comic book enthusiast and moviegoer, I must say that Venom: The Last Dance has left me both exhilarated and saddened. This third installment of Tom Hardy’s Venom saga was a rollercoaster ride, filled with action, suspense, and emotional depth. Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote faced an apocalyptic threat from Knull, the cosmic entity who created all symbiotes.
“Venom: The Last Stand” – This marks the final installment in Tom Hardy’s Venom film series. Audience members are curious to find out how things ultimately unfold for Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote. In this film, they encounter a cosmic danger from Knull, the originator of all symbiotes, while simultaneously evading the secretive government program called the Imperium Project, led by Rex Strickland, portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor. With the fate of the universe hanging in the balance, Eddie and Venom must make choices that will have far-reaching effects.
Here is everything that happens at the end of Venom: The Last Dance.
What happens to Eddie and Venom at the end of The Last Dance?
In the movie “Venom: The Last Dance,” Knull dispatches a horde of Xenophages to locate the Codex, a powerful artifact said to unlock his prison that the Symbiotes had sealed him in millennia ago. Simultaneously, Earth is witnessing Area 51’s shutdown. However, within the premises, the Area 55 Imperium Program remains operational, its purpose being the capture and examination of the Symbiotes.
Escaping from both the Xenophages and the Imperium, Eddie and Venom navigate their way to Las Vegas, only to be apprehended by Strickland’s group. Upon arriving at Area 55, Eddie is subjected to questioning. After Venom breaks free, the Xenophages assault the compound. This leads to Venom bonding with other symbiotes in Area 55, but they are brutally killed by the Xenophages. Unfortunately, Stephen Graham’s character, Patrick Mulligan, also perishes in these events.
In the initial film, Venom unintentionally brought about the Codex when he saved Eddie’s life. Recognizing the need to make a self-sacrifice for Eddie and obliterate the Codex, the Symbiote breaks away from Eddie and snatches the Xenopages prior to submerging them in an acid solution. In a final act, a mortally wounded Strickland destroys the Xenopages by exploding a grenade.
Dr. Teddy Payne, portrayed by Juno Temple, manages to live on after uniting with the Agony symbiote, now possessing the ability to move at astonishing speeds. On the other hand, Eddie, who’s criminal history has been wiped clean, pays a visit to the Statue of Liberty in New York City, much like their final plans with Venom.
Will Knull return in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe?
During the extra scene shown after the credits in Venom: The Last Dance, Knull makes a return, offering viewers a clear view of his face for the first time. Portrayed by Andy Serkis, Knull appears to address the audience, hinting at a future where he intends to destroy the world and cause everything to burn.
Despite not managing to break free from his prison within this film, Knull is expected to play a significant role in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe moving forward. There have even been whispers that he might feature in Spider-Man 4, hinting at a possible introduction into the main Marvel Cinematic Universe down the line.
