Venom: The Last Dance Post Credits Explained

What happens in Venom: The Last Dance’s mid and post-credits scenes?

In a thrilling mid-credits sequence, we see Andy Serkis’ character, Knull, unleash a furious tirade, vowing destruction and annihilation of all life. Crucially, the object he desperately sought – the codex – is no longer in his possession. Earlier in the film, he had dispatched the Xenophages to retrieve it from Eddie Brock (Venom) but failed when Venom destroyed the artifact by deliberately leading the Xenophages towards acid tanks, which were then detonated by Rex Strickland following his activation of them.

As a gaming enthusiast, it’s intriguing to consider how Venom: The Last Dance, apparently the last flick in this series, might leave Knull’s threats unresolved. Yet, whispers circulate that Knull could play a role in the narrative of Spider-Man 4, supposedly hitting screens somewhere between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars – both events rumored to delve into the multiverse.

After the credits roll, we see Cristo Fernandez’s bartender, who was previously apprehended by Rex Strickland for questioning about Eddie, running from the ruins of Area 51 – a location that met its end in the movie’s final act. Subsequently, a cockroach is depicted crawling into a shattered symbiote container, hinting at something within it.

In the closing moments of the movie, prior to any additional scenes, we see Eddie making a trip to the Statue of Liberty in New York City, fulfilling Venom’s last request by paying his respects.

In “Venom: The Last Dance,” Kelly Marcel takes on both the director’s role and the screenwriter, collaborating with Tom Hardy in penning the storyline as well. Apart from Hardy, Serkis, and Fernandez, this movie features an impressive cast that includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Rhys Ifans, and Clark Backo.
