Cruel Intentions Remake Trailer Sets Release Date for Prime Video TV Show

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia and a keen interest in adaptations, I must say that the trailer for the Cruel Intentions remake has piqued my curiosity. Having grown up watching the original movie, I’m intrigued to see how this modern take on Les Liaisons dangereuses will unfold, especially given the political backdrop of the storyline.

Amazon’s Prime Video has unveiled the preview for a fresh adaptation of the beloved ’90s film “Cruel Intentions,” a captivating tale of adolescence and intrigue, which originally featured Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe.

The revamped series focuses on the students at Manchester University, a prestigious institution nestled near Washington D.C., where status symbolizes everything, and fraternities and sororities are the epitome of exclusivity. The ruthless step-siblings, Caroline Merteuil and Lucien Belmont, will stop at nothing to maintain their positions in the competitive social ladder. However, when a hazing event jeopardizes the entire Greek system, they’ll go to extreme lengths to protect their power and prestige – including courting Annie Grover, the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. As friendships crumble, allegiances are questioned, and skeletons tumble out of closets, Manchester University becomes a contemporary royal court, where love is a game, and power and reputation rule supreme.
