In a conversation with Vogue, Sabrina Carpenter and her stylist, Jared Ellner, shared their strategy for coordinating outfits during her concert that were similar in essence but subtly different in color schemes, details, and accessories. This approach ensures the singer keeps track of her performance outfits while fans enjoy seeing fresh looks regularly. Additionally, they touched upon Carpenter’s unique opening act where she dons a towel initially before unveiling a corseted bodysuit prior to her performance.

A carpenter shared that the concept of a towel was originally sparked by someone else disclosing a jacket idea. Later, the “Espresso” singer discussed her corseted attire, expressing that while they can make dancing tricky due to their rigidity, she doesn’t have a waist, so she feels comfortable wearing them. The performer-designer duo divulged that the baby doll costume Carpenter dons during her performance helps alleviate any insecurities since it is incredibly cozy for her to wear.

They explained how the set design features changing lights and hues to give the idea that the events take place “through one night.” Carpenter revealed that the catsuit in the second act has been helpful with her movements on stage. The singer elaborated how she also tries “to make the visuals very meaningful in between” to aid the 2-minute wardrobe changes. For the third act, she talked about the skirt reveal for one of her songs. The artist recalled being inspired by an ABBA show and how she wanted their “own version” of the outfit.

In some performances, Sabrina Carpenter hinted at her support for various states by sporting their T-shirts as part of her attire. At the end of the conversation, she and her partner offered a preview of what they’ll wear during the upcoming concert in Philadelphia.
