What is The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim about?
183 years prior to the events portrayed in the original movie trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” unfolds the tale of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the historic King of Rohan. In this narrative, a surprise assault by Wulf, a cunning and merciless Dunlending lord, avenging his father’s demise, compels Helm and his subjects to execute a courageous final stand at the imposing fortress of Hornburg – a stronghold renowned later as Helm’s Deep. As conditions grow dire, Héra, Helm’s daughter, is called upon to rally the resistance against an adversary determined on their complete annihilation.
The film’s voice cast includes Brian Cox as Helm Hammerhand, Gaia Wise as Héra, Luke Pasqualino as Wulf, Miranda Otto as Éowyn (Otto reprises her role from Peter Jackson’s trilogy), and Shaun Dooley as Freca. Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright, Michael Wildman, Jude Akuwudike, Bilal Hasna, and Janine Duvitski round out the cast.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that this gripping narrative was crafted by the brilliant minds of Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, drawing inspiration from the captivating storyline conceived by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. Interestingly, our game’s creator, Kamiyama, has a rich background in the Ghost in the Shell universe, having worked on numerous projects within it. Furthermore, Kamiyama has also directed episodes for Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Ultraman, ensuring our gaming experience is nothing short of extraordinary!
On December 13, 2024, the movie “The War of the Rohirrim” from Warner Bros. Pictures is set to hit theaters across the United States.
