As a lifelong fan of CS:GO and a proud Finn, I can’t help but be overwhelmed with pride for ENCE and their incredible victory at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024! The team’s youthful roster, just days into their new lineup, managed to pull off a fairytale run against all odds. It’s an astonishing achievement for this Finnish org, lifting the trophy on home soil after making changes to their CS2 roster just days prior.

In Espoo, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander’s team unveiled their revamped, youthful lineup for the first time, holding the status of the second-lowest ranked squad with only five days worth of preparation under their belt.

ENCE complete a fairytale run and beat Heroic 3-1 in the grand final!

What a remarkable accomplishment it was for the Finnish organization to win the trophy on their home ground, having made alterations to their CS2 squad only recently.

The initial stages of the championship match didn’t go well for ENCE, as they lost their first map choice on Ancient by a score of 10-13, which forced them into an immediate comeback attempt, but remarkably, they managed to pull through.

A whopping 10-round half on their CT side of Nuke secured them Heroics first map choice 13-7.

Their new addition, 19-year-old Ryan “⁠Neityu⁠” Aubry, carried them to tie up the grand final.

Triple overtime on Vertigo

Remarkably, the standout map of the sequence was found on Vertigo. ENCE initially took a strong lead with a 10-2 start, but their performance deteriorated. They managed to barely qualify for overtime.

Then it was time for former Natus Vincere star Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev to take over. He produced this insane ace:

Regrettably, HEROIC’s dream of a decisive fifth match didn’t come true. Yet again, the team led by gla1ve demonstrated their strength on the CT side.

As HEROIC began to stage a comeback, Paavo “podis” Heiskanen dashed their aspirations with this stunning double-kill.

ENCE successfully clinched victory at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024 with a score of 13-8, thereby securing the title on their home ground. This triumph also put an end to a 17-month period without winning any trophies.

The rising stars from ENCE shone brightly, with their seasoned captain, gla1ve, leading the way. Notably, this marked gla1ve’s first LAN tournament victory in nearly five years!

On the other hand, the semi-finalists of IEM Rio faced difficulties. Rasmus “sjuush” Beck had a dismal performance on Vertigo’s bomb-site B, René “TeSeS” Madsen managed 25 kills on their T-side but lacked overall impact, and Abdul “degster” Gasanov’s misses on Dust2 proved detrimental as podi dominated him throughout the map.

It appears that ENCE might not have many LAN events in 2024, as they didn’t manage to qualify for the RMR with their previous team setup.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my thoughts on ENCE’s overall performance. Their skill and synergy have truly shone through, leaving me in awe. However, the question of whether they’ll keep impressing or if their opponents will crack their code soon is one that lingers in the back of my mind. The esports world is unpredictable, but I’m certainly rooting for ENCE to continue their winning streak!
