Why Did Alex Jones’ Eddie Leave Kickin It?

As a hardcore Kickin’ It fan since its debut, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia whenever Eddie Jones, played by Alex Christian Jones, crosses my mind. The character’s departure from the show was as enigmatic as a karate chop in the moonlight.

In simpler terms, Alex Christian Jones initially played the character Eddie Jones on the Disney XD series ‘Kickin’ It’, appearing in the first two seasons. However, since the show ran for four seasons in total, many fans have speculated over the years whether his departure from the show was due to being fired.

Here is everything we have learned about whether Alex Jones was fired from Kickin’ It.

Why and when Did Eddie leave Kickin It?

In “Oh, Christmas Nuts!”, the Season 2 finale of Kickin’ It, Alex made his last appearance on April 1, 2013. The show suggests that Eddie might have quit the dojo or been kicked out by Rudy (Jason Earles) due to his subpar martial arts skills. His karate scores were unimpressive, and his agility didn’t measure up to the rest of the team members.

Following that, I heard that during season 3, changes were made to eliminate Eddie’s role from the storyline. Unfortunately, his character wasn’t replaced in the following seasons.

Was Alex Jones fired from Kickin It?

Nah, I didn’t get fired from Kickin’ It, mate. I decided to hang up my martial arts gear on that show myself. Kickin’ It ran for a total of four seasons and 84 episodes, airing between June 13, 2011, and March 25, 2015. You might have seen me in 44 out of those episodes.

After leaving the show “Kickin’ It,” it appears he left the world of Hollywood as well, and since then, he has mostly avoided acting roles. The exception is his brief stint in the CW superhero series “Black Lightning,” which aired from 2018 to 2021. In Season 3 Episode 5, titled “The Book of Occupation: Chapter Five: Requiem for Tavon,” Alex played Sekou Hamilton, a role he portrayed on November 11, 2019.
