Paramount Home Entertainment has disclosed the upcoming 4K, Blu-ray, and digital launch dates for the latest addition to Paramount Pictures’ Transformers series, which is the fourth installment in the blockbuster sci-fi action franchise. Despite its underwhelming performance at the box office, the animated prequel has received favorable reviews from both critics and audiences. Currently, it boasts a Certified Fresh Tomatometer rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and an almost perfect Popcornmeter score of 98%.

This movie reveals an unheard-of tale about Optimus Prime and Megatron, who are infamous adversaries, yet were once tightly bound like brothers. Their friendship had a profound impact on the destiny of their home planet, Cybertron.

When are the Transformers One 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release dates?

Starting October 22, you’ll be able to rent or buy digitally the first Transformers movie. Later, on December 17, it will come out in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats. Additionally, the home video and physical releases will feature more than 45 minutes of extra content.

This computer-generated animated movie, known as the first Transformers film of its kind, was helmed by director Josh Cooley from a script penned by Andrew Barer, Steve Desmond, Gabriel Ferrari, and Michael Sherman. The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as both Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, Keegan-Michael Key lending his voice to Bumblebee, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Steve Buscemi in the role of Starscream.
