As an ardent fan of Tamil cinema and Bigg Boss Tamil, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment upon hearing about Ravindar Chandrasekaran’s eviction from the show. Known for his larger-than-life persona and enthralling performances in films like Nalanum Nandhiniyum and Sutta Kadhai, Fatman, as he is popularly known, was one of the most entertaining contestants this season. However, life, much like a reality TV show, isn’t always fair, is it?
This season 8 of the widely discussed reality TV series Bigg Boss Tamil has been creating a buzz ever since its debut episode. The show is currently being hosted by superstar Vijay Sethupathi, who took over from acting legend Kamal Haasan. In this piece, we’ll delve into one contestant who was recently eliminated from Vijay Sethupathi’s show – Ravindar Chandrasekaran.
Who is Ravindar Chandrasekaran?
As a connoisseur of the arts, let me share a bit about myself: I’m Ravinder Chandrasekar, born on the 8th day of July in the vibrant city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. I was nurtured alongside my dear sister Lalitha Shobhi by my loving parents, C Chandrasekaran and Vanitha Chandrasekaran.
Widely recognized as Fatman, Ravinder is particularly renowned for movies such as Nalanum Nandhiniyum, Sutta Kadhai, Munnarivaan, and the yet-to-be-titled Balaji Murugadoss film. This talented individual runs his own production company, Libra Productions.

In the latest season of Bigg Boss Tamil, the filmmaker participated as a contestant. Last week, he was removed from the show, making him the first contestant to be eliminated.
When the chosen contestant among the six nominees was removed from the Bigg Boss house by the producer, online users showed a variety of responses, as they felt Fatman was one of the most entertaining participants. Some anticipated that Ravindar would be the next to go, while others were taken aback.
Ravindar Chandrasekaran’s arrest in cheating case
2023 found me, Ravindar Chandrasekaran, in handcuffs on September 7, apprehended by none other than the Entrustment Document Fraud (EDF) Wing-I of the Central Crime Branch (CCB). They accused me of a heinous deception – allegedly swindling a businessman out of a staggering Rs 15.83 crores!
As per an article in The Hindu, Balaji Kapa from Madav Media Pvt. Ltd. filed a complaint at the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner’s office. He stated that in October 2020, Ravindhar Chandrasekaran came to him with a business proposal for a new venture.
On September 17, 2020, they signed an investment agreement, and he transferred INR 158.3 million to Fatman. But, in his complaint, Mr. Kapa stated that after receiving the money, Ravindhar neither initiated the energy business nor returned the funds. Later, the producer was granted bail following nearly a month in custody. His wife announced this news through a social media post.
Ravindar Chandrasekaran’s personal life
In my personal life, I’m honored to be wedded to the captivating Mahalakshmi, a renowned Tamil TV actress. We officially tied the knot in September 2022, following a heartfelt exchange of wedding vows. As shared by the Times of India, our romance blossomed over approximately a year before we sealed our bond at the revered Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati.
Though numerous people expressed their congratulations for the couple, there was some negativity on social media since both individuals were remarrying after previous unions. Mahalakshmi had been married to Anil before and they have a son together. However, she chose to separate from her former spouse. Conversely, Ravinder Chandrasekaran’s first marriage with R Shanti ended in divorce as well.
