What do we know about Wolf Man?
The plot synopsis for the movie goes as follows: Christopher Abbott, a Golden Globe nominee known for Poor Things and It Comes at Night, plays Blake, a man from San Francisco who inherits his old rural Oregon home following his father’s disappearance. His marriage to high-powered wife Charlotte (Emmy winner Julia Garner of Ozark and Inventing Anna) is strained, so he convinces her to take a break with their daughter Ginger (Matlida Firth from Hullraisers and Coma) to the property. As they reach the farmhouse late at night, they encounter an unknown beast that attacks them. They barricade themselves inside as the creature prowls around the house. However, as the night progresses, Blake starts acting strangely and transforming into something unfamiliar, leaving Charlotte to decide whether the terror within their home is more dangerous than the danger outside.
In addition to Wolf Man, actors Sam Jaeger, Ben Prendergast, and Benedict Hardie are featured. The script was co-written by James Whannell along with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. Jason Blum takes on the role of producer for this film, while Ryan Gosling (originally intended to star but left the project in 2023), Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell serve as executive producers.
In the past, Leigh Whannell has directed movies like Insidious: Chapter 3 (released in 2015), Upgrade from 2018, and The Invisible Man which came out in 2020.
Wolf Man releases in United States theaters on January 17, 2025, from Universal Pictures.
