As a long-time fan of Call of Duty and someone who has lived in the Middle East for a significant portion of my life, I find myself both intrigued and disheartened by the news that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will not be available in Kuwait on its release date.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 narrative unfolds amidst the backdrop of the First Gulf War, initiated when Saddam Hussein attempted to incorporate Kuwait as the 19th province of Iraq.
In BO6, we’re still unclear about the storyline, but it’s likely that players will join forces with the US-backed coalition that liberated Kuwait. Given this, one might anticipate a portrayal of Kuwait in a positive light. However, reports suggest that Kuwaiti authorities are dissatisfied with the final product and have not granted permission for its release on October 25th.
Black Ops 6 was not approved by relevant authorities in Kuwait
As a fan, I’ve learned that unfortunately, I won’t be able to get my hands on Black Ops 6 in Kuwait, as it hasn’t received official approval from the relevant authorities yet. Sadly, this has led to all pre-orders being canceled.

There’s a chance that the Call of Duty Middle East team might negotiate terms with Kuwaiti authorities, allowing regional fans to join in, yet up until now, they haven’t managed to reach an accord.
It’s uncertain why the game hasn’t been given official approval yet. Since the game is set during the Gulf War and likely takes place in Kuwait, it’s possible that the representation of the country may have raised concerns, though this is just a guess on our part.
We’re waiting for an official explanation on why the game wasn’t given approval, and we hope that an agreement can be made for the benefit of local fans.
