After commercial debacle with Agent, Akhil Akkineni has now signed up for period drama based on backdrop of Tirupati? Here’s what we know

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in the entertainment industry under my belt, I must say that Akhil Akkineni‘s journey in Tollywood is one that has been filled with both highs and lows. After the success of his last two films, it was only natural for fans to wonder what would be next on his agenda. The latest rumors about his new project, a period drama set against the backdrop of the Tirupati temple, have certainly piqued my interest.

Akhil Akkineni’s film career has been steadily climbing for quite a while. Following the success of his recent films like Most Eligible Bachelor and Mr Majnu, he faced a flop with the 2023 release Agent. Now, there are whispers that the actor is eagerly anticipating another chance to shine, which is said to be a period-based movie.

Following his last release’s remarkable success, it seemed as though Akhil Akkineni had taken a break from acting, leaving fans wondering about his future plans. However, recent rumors indicate that Nagarjuna’s son is now part of another upcoming project – a period drama. This film, helmed by debut director Murali Kishore, is reportedly set in the context of the Tirupati temple.

Beyond what was initially suggested, the report also disclosed an interesting detail. It turned out to be Akhil’s father, Nagarjuna, who made the crucial call regarding their upcoming film. His decision aimed at making this production a comeback opportunity for his son.

Indeed, Nagarjuna Akkineni took great care to maintain high standards for the movie’s production. Consequently, he personally supervised both the budget and the final completion of the project.

This upcoming film is financed by Annapurna Studios, and Akhil has faith in the novel director, similar to Murali Kishore, to deliver an extraordinary production on the big screen this time. The producers will soon officially reveal and confirm details about the movie.

In an unexpected move, baby Akhil Akkineni first appeared on screen in the 1995 film “Sisindri,” which was financed by his own father, Nagarjuna. This was his one and only acting stint as a child artist.

In 2015, he returned to the realm of cinema, taking on the leading role in the movie Akhil. Despite the tremendous buzz surrounding its release, the film unfortunately underperformed at the box office and was labeled a financial flop.

Now, it will be interesting to see how his upcoming film scores at the box office.
