As a dedicated Outlander fan with over a decade of emotional investment in these characters, I must admit that the trailer for Season 7B has left me both excited and apprehensive. The separation of Claire and Jamie is always heart-wrenching, but the prospect of Claire returning to America while Jamie stays behind raises more questions than answers.
At New York Comic Con 2024, it was no surprise that we got a glimpse of the trailer for Outlander’s seventh season, part B. Buckle up as we prepare for a storyline that could tug at our heartstrings!
Towards the close of Outlander‘s Season 7A, Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian successfully returned to their native Scotland. The unfortunate demise of Jamie’s relative, Simon Fraser, enabled them to secure passage on a ship back home, ensuring a proper burial for Simon. As a result, Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian will be spending some time at Lallybroch in the near future.
In the meantime, Bree and Roger ended up apart due to different time periods. Roger along with Buck traveled back in time in search of Jemmy, who was kidnapped by Rob Cameron. On the other hand, Bree remains in the present era with Mandy, but is it Jemmy who is now stuck in the past?
Outlander Season 7B teases heartbreak for Claire
In the trailer, it’s shown initially that Claire sets off for America without Jamie. Later, Lord John Grey contacts both Claire and Jamie because his nephew is severely injured. Given her expertise, he requests Claire’s assistance in saving him.
Jamie finds himself unable to depart, whereas Claire is free to go. This situation eventually results in their temporary separation. However, it seems this state of affairs won’t last much longer. We witness Jamie donning a blue coat and resuming his service for America again. This hints that he indeed manages to return to American ground.
Unfortunately, Claire receives troubling news from Lord John Grey. It seems that something has occurred involving Jamie, a notion Claire finds hard to accept. After all, she and Jamie are deeply connected, so if anything were to happen to him, it would feel to her like her own life had ended.
What has transpired with Jamie? The trailer gives us hints, but readers of the books can anticipate the upcoming events. Check out the trailer for Season 7B of Outlander.
