Tekken 8 devs apologize for character & stage DLC confusion

As a long-time Tekken enthusiast who has been through numerous iterations of this iconic fighting game series, I must say that I am both relieved and appreciative of Bandai Namco’s response to the recent DLC confusion surrounding Tekken 8. Having spent countless hours mastering each character and stage in previous games, it was disheartening to see the Genmaji Temple stage being separated from the Playable Character Year 1 Pass as a separate purchase.

Bandai Namco has acknowledged and addressed the criticism surrounding the release of additional characters and stages for Tekken 8. Initially, some fans felt misled when they realized that certain stages were not part of the Playable Character Year 1 Pass but had to be purchased separately. Recognizing the confusion, the developers of Tekken have apologized for any misunderstanding and are making amends. The upcoming stage will now be available free of charge to Year 1 Pass holders, and players logging into the game from late October through November will receive 500 Tekken Coins as a gesture of goodwill.

Bandai Namco addressed the current situation through a post on their official Tekken social media platform. In this message, the developers expressed their apologies for any misunderstandings that have arisen and provided information about their plans to rectify the situation for their fans.

An important message from the #TEKKEN8 team.

Bandai Namco’s reference to backlash means that fans are upset because the Genmaji Temple stage was sold separately as DLC instead of being part of Tekken 8’s current Season Pass, which was expected to contain only character-related content like Eddy, Lidia, Heihachi (and an upcoming fourth character). However, since the Genmaji Temple wasn’t included in the pass, players feel they are being asked to pay extra for a new stage, despite their expectations that it would be included.

Appears that Bandai Namco and the Tekken crew are set to clear up any doubts regarding the upcoming Winter content for Tekken 8. Keep an eye out here on Shacknews for more details about the new fighter and release date!
