It’s with great excitement that we at ComingSoon are able to share an exclusive update: Pathway Pictures is now on board for a brand new series called “The Babies of Luna Park”.

As a captivated admirer, I’m thrilled to share that “The Babies of Luna Park” is a fresh, enticing series, nestled in the vibrant era of the 1920s. This enchanting production is the brainchild of visionary writer and director Bat-Sheva Guez. Recently, it was unveiled to the industry at the bustling Gotham Week Project Market held in the heart of New York City.

Lauren Elizabeth Harris’s production company, Pathway Pictures, has joined the team producing “The Babies of Luna Park”. Furthermore, Harris herself will take up a role as the character Beatrice in the upcoming series.

What is The Babies of Luna Park about?

In ‘The Babies of Luna Park’, various outcasts are magnetically attracted to the vibrant atmosphere of Coney Island’s Luna Park, each harboring aspirations for a brighter future. A young couple faces an unexpected predicament when their baby is born prematurely. The doctor advises them to bid farewell to their newborn, but a nurse secretly hints at ‘a place’, sending the pair on an unforeseen journey that leads them to bring their fragile infant, tucked inside a shoebox, to Luna Park, where they encounter Martin Couney and his renowned incubator sideshow. The series, teeming with aspiring gangsters, mesmerizing mermaid performers, and others, serves as a counterpoint to despair, offering an uplifting narrative in the most unexpected setting.

Harris’ character is a wealthy socialite who is trying to seize power during the eugenics movement.

Harris expressed that not many scripts leave him breathless, but Babies of Luna Park was an exception. As an actor and producer, he reads numerous scripts annually, yet this one instantly caught his attention, prompting him to make it happen regardless of the challenges. Bat-Sheva’s directorial skills and writing prowess are inspiring, making the opportunity to collaborate with her on this production a dream come true for Harris. He is honored to be involved in Gotham Week and eagerly anticipates the future developments of this project.

Guez expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s fantastic to welcome Lauren Elizabeth Harris onto our team! Her exceptional acting skills and her tireless commitment and ingenuity as a producer make her an invaluable asset for this project. She’s a pleasure to collaborate with, and it’s rewarding to be part of the process that brings this project to fruition.

Guez expressed his thoughts about “The Babies of Luna Park” as follows: “This tale is incredibly significant, focusing on an immigrant and showman, along with their companion and crew, who devoted their lives to prompting the medical field to prioritize neonatal care. This story unfolds in a breathtakingly wild and visually captivating location, a place where outsiders endeavor to improve the world despite the odds. This narrative cries out for a cinematic adaptation and I am thrilled to be part of it, having been chosen by The Gotham to contribute my voice.
