As an avid gamer with a soft spot for retro games, especially those from the 90s, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming Analogue 3D system! Having grown up playing Nintendo 64 classics like GoldenEye 007 and Super Mario 64 on a clunky old CRT TV, it’s mind-boggling to think that I might get to revisit those games in high resolution with modern features.
The manufacturer of the Analogue Pocket has recently shared more information about its upcoming device, named Analogue 3D. This new system is specifically designed to run Nintendo 64 games at high definition and boasts numerous contemporary features. It’s been under development for a while now, with pre-orders set to begin next week.
Back in October 2023, the Analogue 3D was unveiled, but fresh details about it were shared today. In a recent statement, the company announced that “Analogue 3D is the globally compatible device with every original N64 game ever produced.” Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the Analogue 3D will be free of regional restrictions and will support Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) and dual-band WiFi.
Analogue also produces the Pocket, a handheld system that plays Game Boy games.
On October 21, 2024, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, pre-orders for the Analogue 3D will kick off on its official site. The device is priced at $249.99 USD and will be available in both black and white color choices.
