Jayasurya wraps up shoot for his magnum opus Kathanar with Anushka Shetty and Prabhu Deva; shares a long note

As a dedicated follower of Malayalam cinema, I am thrilled to witness the journey of Jayasurya’s latest film, Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer. With 212 days of shoot spanning across 6 schedules for 18 months, it’s clear that this project has been a labor of love and dedication from all involved.

Jayasurya, a popular Malayalam actor, shared on his Instagram account that the filming for his movie titled “Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer” is complete, and it’s now transitioning to the post-production phase.

Instead of posting directly on Instagram, the actor decided to publish an official statement there, acknowledging the tireless efforts of every artist who contributed to the film’s creation. Additionally, he conveyed his deep appreciation towards the director and producer for their commitment throughout the process of breathing life into the movie.

To sum up, he expressed that he is now among the countless artists eagerly anticipating the arrival of Kathanar.

During the process of finalizing the film Kathanar, its director Rojin Thomas shared a heartfelt post about the movie’s conclusion. According to his update, the film required extensive shooting that lasted approximately 212 days, distributed over six separate sessions, and took a total of 18 months to complete.

In expressing his joy about working on the movie over the last few days, the director also mentioned his gratitude for having Anushka Shetty join the Malayalam film industry through this particular production.

Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer, featuring Jayasurya as the lead character, narrates the tale of Kadamattathu Kathanar, an iconic 9th-century Christian priest who was reputed for his magical abilities and talents. This fantasy-thriller film marks Anushka’s entry into Malayalam cinema, with a supporting cast including stars like Prabhu Deva, Vineeth, Sandy Master, Nitish Bharadwaj, among others, playing crucial roles. The movie is also reportedly the first part of a planned two-part cinematic series.

In the near future, it’s worth noting that Jayasurya made news lately as he was spotted with Kantara actor Rishab Shetty at Mookambika Temple. They both visited the temple together, and shared photos taken within the premises.

Recently, I’ve found myself at the center of some heated discussions, largely due to the ongoing controversy swirling around me. In a candid conversation with Manorama, I chose to tackle these accusations head-on, emphatically stating that every bit of it was concocted, fabricated for reasons I can only speculate on.

The actor has denied the accusations imposed against him and even went on to call himself “a living martyr.”
