As a seasoned gamer with a knack for binge-watching crime dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming third season of Netflix’s Monster! The addition of Olivia Williams, Laurie Metcalf, and Tom Hollander to the cast has sent a thrill down my spine.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that some exceptional talents have joined the cast of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix crime anthology series, “Monster Season 3.” Olivia Williams, Laurie Metcalf, and Tom Hollander are now part of this gripping tale based on real-life crime stories. Despite the first season stirring up a storm upon its debut, it was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 in November 2022. The second part, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” premiered on September 19, 2024, keeping viewers intrigued and talking.
Monster Season 3 cast adds actors for Alfred Hitchcock and Ed Gein’s mother
After the triumph of its first two installments, Netflix’s Monster series will shift its narrative spotlight towards the tale of infamous convicted serial killer, Ed Gein.
According to Variety’s report, production for Monster Season 3 will start shortly as new actors come aboard. Notably, Laurie Metcalf has been cast as Augusta Wilhelmine Gein, the mother of Ed Gein. Furthermore, Netflix has secured the services of Tom Hollander to play Alfred Hitchcock, while Olivia Williams is set to portray Alma Reville, Hitchcock’s wife.
Ed Gein was found guilty for two murders he carried out in the 1950s. Additionally, he was held accountable for disturbing graves and creating gruesome mementos using the bodies. In the Netflix series, Charlie Hunnam assumes the character of Gein.
Previously, as a devoted fan, I recall Ryan Murphy sharing with Collider his thoughts on the subject of Monster Season 3. He expressed, “Following our exploration of the Menendez case, Ian (Brennan) and I found ourselves pondering this question: ‘Where did society’s fascination with serial killers originate? What sparked it all?’
Murphy went on to say, “From our findings, the individual who initially achieved such stardom was Ed. He instantly became a sensational celebrity following his arrest, a phenomenon never seen before. It turned out that he was driven, as we later discovered – but he also had schizophrenia. His transformation into the person he became is an intriguing tale.
