As a thriller enthusiast with a knack for spotting promising casts and directors, I’m thoroughly excited about the upcoming release of “Carry-On” on Netflix this December! Having followed Taron Egerton‘s career since his breakout role in Kingsman, I can’t wait to see him tackle a new character. And let’s not forget Jason Bateman, whose diverse filmography has always left me entertained.

A fresh thriller titled “Carry-On” will be available on Netflix starting in December. This film is directed by the talented Jaume Collet-Serra, and features Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, among others, as main actors.

What is Carry-On about?
The plot of the film revolves around a TSA agent, still in his youthful years, who is caught up in an intriguing game with a secretive traveler. This individual threatens to expose him unless he manages to sneak a potentially hazardous item onto a flight departing on Christmas Eve.
The script for Carry-On was co-written by T.J. Fixman and Michael Green.
Taron Egerton is widely recognized for his roles as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin in the Kingsman series and Johnny from the Sing movies. He’s also appeared in films like Eddie the Eagle (2016), Robin Hood (2018), and Tetris (2023). Jason Bateman, on the other hand, is famed for his portrayals of Michael Bluth in Arrested Development and Martin “Marty” Byrde in Ozark. His filmography includes Juno (2007), Hancock (2008), Up in the Air (2009), The Switch (2010), Horrible Bosses (2011), Identity Thief (2013), Game Night, and many more.
In addition to the main cast, Carry-On features Sofia Carson known for Descendants, Danielle Deadwyler from The Harder They Fall, Sinqua Walls of White Men Can’t Jump, Logan Marshall-Green who starred in Upgrade, Theo Rossi best recognized as The Penguin, Josh Brener popularly known for Saturday Night Live, Dean Norris famous for Breaking Bad, Tonatiuh from Promised Land, Curtiss Cook from West Side Story, Joe Williamson of Ford v Ferrari, and Gil Perez-Abraham who appeared in The Batman.
Recently, filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra helmed the 2022 blockbuster Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson. He’s known for a variety of movies, including House of Wax from 2005, Orphan (2009), Unknown (2011), Non-Stop (2014), The Shallows (2016), and Jungle Cruise (2021). His upcoming project is titled The Woman in the Yard, set for release in March 2025. This film features Deadwyler along with Kristen Bell, Lil Rel Howery, Corey Hawkins, David Oyelowo, Okwui Okpokwasili, and others.
Carry-On will be released on Netflix on December 13, 2024.
