As a self-proclaimed candle connoisseur and a New Yorker at heart, this new collaboration between Free People and Non Gender Specific x Ohuprettythings has me absolutely smitten! The idea of a Brooklyn Baby, Cherry Noir scented candle, inspired by my beloved city and a favorite cocktail, is simply too irresistible.

When considering Free People, it’s common to imagine boho-chic attire and distinctive accessories that seem unique. Yet, there’s much more to them, as they define themselves as a “lifestyle company,” encompassing a broader ethos beyond just clothing.

It’s worth noting that they don’t just offer regular goods; you’ll find items such as gifts and wellness products among them, with an assortment that includes candles. Given our fondness for candles and home decor, this appeals to us greatly, as we can’t get enough of these delightful illuminations!

We’ve just been informed via an email from Free People that they will be exclusively selling a brand-new, limited edition candle collection, Non Gender Specific x Ohuprettythings. This means you’ll only find it at Free People!

What sets this particular candle apart? For those unfamiliar with the brand, one might wonder, who is Gender Non Specific? And what aroma does this unique launch offer us?

Leading gender-neutral beauty brand, Non Gender SpecificTM which provides
botanical-rich, vegan, and cruelty-free multi-correctional formulas, has just announced the launch of its second exclusive collaboration with renowned New York City-based content creator and self-proclaimed “Scent in the City” perfume influencer, Jess (@Ohuprettythings), for a cocktail-inspired candle which aims to “exude a sexy, boozy, and a slightly smoky ambiance, perfect for setting a seductive and sophisticated mood.”

Press Release from Free People

Referring to the fragrance itself, it’s known as “Brooklyn Baby, Cherry Noir.” This name is inspired by one of Jess’s favorite cocktails and includes hints of cherry, bourbon, whiskey, among others. Given our fondness for the scent of cherries, this seems like something we would appreciate throughout the year.

Speaking about this fragrance, some people liken it to a subtle tribute to the city that is always awake. If this doesn’t spark your interest in buying one of these candles, we can’t think of anything else that would!

We’re smitten not just by the concept of this candle, but its packaging too is alluring and fits seamlessly into any space. It seems like we could really benefit from adding this candle to our lives, making our October (and future) more sophisticated.

Fellow candle enthusiasts, have any of you encountered the concept of ‘Non Gender Specific’ scented candles? Does it pique your interest as well? Are you planning on visiting Free People to acquire one of these gender-neutral candles for your collection?
