As a die-hard fan of suspenseful horror stories that keep me on my toes, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming release of the Until Dawn movie! Having spent countless hours playing the 2015 game, I can attest to its gripping narrative and the chilling sense of dread it instills. The idea of seeing this captivating tale unfold on the big screen with a talented cast is simply exhilarating!


The Until Dawn movie release date has been revealed.

Supermassive Games developed Until Dawn, a 2015 interactive horror drama published by Sony Computer Entertainment. In this game, you follow the story of eight friends who find themselves stranded at a remote mountain lodge on Blackwood Mountain. As a murderer is loose, your group must fight against the harsh elements to stay alive throughout the night. The players are required to make critical decisions that can alter the plot, and these choices could result in the death of characters.

When is the Until Dawn movie release date?

By the stipulated date, Sony’s Screen Gems will premiere Until Dawn in cinemas on April 25, 2024. This PlayStation Productions movie shares its release day with The Accountant 2, a sequel directed by Gavin O’Connor, and the follow-up to the 2016 film featuring Ben Affleck. Similarly, an unnamed Shudder film is also set for release on April 25.

Previously, Screen Gems characterized the film as a “passionate tribute to the horror genre, focusing on a group of main characters.

In the Until Dawn film, Ella Rubin plays Clover, Michael Cimino portrays Max, Ji-young Yoo takes on Yena, Odessa A’zion assumes Melanie, Maia Mitchell embodies Megan, and Belmont Cameli is Toni. Notably, Peter Stormare will return to his role as Dr. Hill, the character players converse with between game chapters, who is a psychiatrist in the story.

David F. Sandberg, who’s known for Shazam, takes on the directorial role for Until Dawn, penned by Gary Dauberman with initial draft work by Blair Butler. The production team consists of Sandberg, Dauberman, Mia Maniscalco, Lotta Losten, Roy Lee, Asad Qizilbash, and Carter Swan. Charles Miller serves as the executive producer.

Filming began in Budapest in August 2024 and wrapped in October 2024.
