As a seasoned gamer who’s had the pleasure of navigating through countless cinematic universes, I must admit, the Jurassic World franchise has always been a thrilling journey. From the original Jurassic Park to the recent Dominion, I’ve witnessed the evolution of dinosaurs and human drama alike.
The Jurassic World series is ushering in a fresh chapter with its upcoming movie titled Jurassic World: Reborn. Consequently, this film sequel is wrapping up the storyline that had Chris Pratt as the main character. Although Jurassic World Dominion marked the end of Pratt’s trilogy, it also brought back several characters from Steven Spielberg’s 1993 Jurassic Park film. Besides Sam Neill and Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum‘s character Ian Malcolm reappeared in the franchise via Dominion. However, during a recent interview, Jeff Goldblum has stated that he will not be appearing in 2025’s Jurassic World: Reborn.
Jeff Goldblum says Ian Malcolm won’t return in Jurassic World Rebirth
Actor Chris Pratt, who played the role of “Star” in the Independence Day film, expressed his doubts about appearing in the next Jurassic Park movie.
During a chat with Total Film, Goldblum shared some insights on potentially reprising my iconic role of Ian Malcolm amidst another Jurassic World adventure. When asked about possibly making an appearance in Jurassic World Rebirth, he mused, “I believe Ian Malcolm may have galloped off towards the sunset, perhaps.
Jeff Goldblum has shown enthusiasm for the new cast of Jurassic World Rebirth as well. He stated, “Scarlett Johansson, my old friend, and Jonathan Bailey, who’s from Wicked, seem to be stepping into leading roles this time around.” Goldblum continued, “I’m eagerly anticipating their performances. I believe that’s a smart choice,” he concluded.
The experienced actor from Hollywood has featured in four out of the six Jurassic series released up to now. He first appeared in the original Jurassic Park in 1993, followed by a return for the sequel, The Lost World, in 1997. Following this, he was absent from the next two installments, but reappeared in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom after a gap of 21 years. If Jeff Goldblum’s statements about Jurassic World: Dominion are any indication, his character Dr. Ian Malcolm may not be seen again after this film.
In the upcoming movie titled “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” Scarlett Johansson takes center stage, sharing screen time with Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali. Gareth Edwards has been appointed as the director for this project, while David Koepp is responsible for writing the script. The release date for “Rebirth” is set for July 2, 2025, in cinemas.
