As a lifelong Pokémon enthusiast who grew up exploring the Kanto region and battling my way through Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova, this latest leak has sent me into a whirlwind of excitement and anticipation. The prospect of returning to the Kalos region in Pokémon Legends Z-A is almost too much for this old trainer to handle!
In a recent cyber attack on Game Freak, the main developers of Pokémon, sensitive data about their future projects was exposed. But what made this breach particularly alarming is that not just information was leaked, but also an early playable version of Pokémon Legends Z-A for PC surfaced online.
A leaker…who doesn’t want to leak anything, but keeps teasing
It seems that the individual who leaked information about Game Freak has apparently been able to run a PC version of an unpublished Pokémon Legends Z-A. But, just because this is possible doesn’t automatically mean there will be a PC version of the game. It’s more than likely that they have developed the game for PC initially and will eventually release it exclusively on Switch after development is complete.
As a gamer myself, I find it peculiar that the supposed hacker wouldn’t release any sneak peeks of the game to keep it under wraps and avoid spoiling the surprises. After all, if they’ve managed to breach Game Freak’s security, what was their initial intention?
At the moment, it remains a mystery as to who the source of the leaks is. This unknown individual seems to be disseminating information through secret communications with the X account that specializes in leak disclosures.
Pokémon Legends Z-A will be the sequel to Pokémon Legends Arceus, which was released in 2022.
All we know about Z-A so far comes from one trailer that shows us the game is set in the future, in the Kalos region (known from Pokémon X/Y). Also, the popular feature of Mega evolution, which allows Pokémon to evolve in battle, is set to return. Hopefully the leaker reveals more soon.
Are you excited about Pokémon Legends Z-A, and will you be on the lookout for any leaked information, or are you making a conscious effort to steer clear of spoilers?
