Actress Nithya Menen hails from Bangalore, Karnataka, born on April 8th, 1990, to Malayali parents named Nalini and Sukumar. She started her education at Poorna Prajna School and continued it at Mount Carmel College in the same city of Bangalore.

Nithya, originally known as NS Nithya due to her parents’ initials, decided to change her name to Menen based on numerology. During an interview with India Today, she disclosed this change, which includes her official documents like a passport. Notably, Nithya is fluent in six languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English.

Yet, here I am, immersed in the captivating world of entertainment. It was during a seemingly ordinary school entrance exam that fate intervened and introduced me to filmmaker B. V. Nandini Reddy, who saw potential in me and persuaded me to explore acting. Little did I know then that this chance encounter would steer my life towards the silver screen.

Currently, the multitalented Nithya Menen, known for her acting and singing abilities, predominantly features in films produced in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. Her impressive resume includes multiple awards, such as the prestigious National Film Award.

Nithya Menen’s filmography

As a seasoned lifestyle guide, I embarked on my screen debut back in 1998, gracing the silver screen at the tender age of eight, in the bilingual film Hanuman. Remarkably, my role was that of the younger sibling to Tabu’s character – an experience I will always cherish as a young artist.

In addition to that, during the years 2001 and 2002, actress Nithya Menen made appearances on the Hindi daily soap Choti Maa- Ek Anokha Bandhan. At the tender age of 15, she worked in a Kannada film called “7 O’ Clock”. Subsequently, she made her debut in the Malayalam film industry with the film “Aakasha Gopuram” directed by K.P. Kumaran and starring Mohanlal. Over the ensuing years, Menen featured in numerous movies such as Josh, Vellathooval, Angel John, Kerala Cafe, Anwar, Apoorvaragam, among others. It was in 2011 that Nithya Menen gained significant recognition with her role in the Telugu rom-com “Ala Modalaindi” alongside actor Nani.

Following Ala Modalaindi, Nithya Menen teamed up with Santosh Sivan for the historical fiction film Urumi. In this movie, she portrayed the character of a princess named Bala who was the love interest of Prabhu Deva. Since then, Nithya has been active in films and appeared in movies such as Veppam, Violin, Aidondla Aidu, Ishq, Karmayogi, Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, Bachelor Party, Ustad Hotel, and many others.

2017 saw Nithya Menen appearing in the Tamil movie Mersal alongside Thalapathy Vijay, earning accolades for her portrayal of a resilient spouse. In 2019, she graced the screen with Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Taapsee Pannu in the Hindi film Mission Mangal. Fast forward to 2022, Nithya had eight projects under her belt, including four films and two web series releases. She was a part of Bheemla Nayak alongside Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati, which turned out to be a blockbuster hit at the box office.
