Lokesh Kanagaraj, the mastermind behind Vikram and Kamal Haasan starrer, has just dropped a bombshell that’s left me reeling with anticipation. The man is weaving a grand cinematic universe with his LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) and it seems he’s not stopping anytime soon!
Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has just revealed some exciting news about his upcoming project with Suriya. In a recent interview, he expressed his intention to develop the character Rolex as a separate film, inspired by the success of Vikram, which starred Kamal Haasan. Additionally, he subtly suggested that after completing Rajinikanth’s Coolie, he aims to create an exceptional LCU movie.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj stated, “I ended Vikram’s story with a powerful twist using the Rolex scene. As I’ve developed the Rolex character more prominently, I intend to produce a standalone movie focused on this role. Following the completion of Coolie, my goal is to craft an epic LCU film, showcasing all the actors from the LCU.
Lokesh stated that over the next five years, he’ll be involved in film projects set within the LCU universe, as he wants to ensure a fitting conclusion for its storyline.
With much anticipation, it was revealed by the director of Coolie that there may be a sequel to Leo 2. Lokesh hinted that if given the chance to create Leo Part 2, he would name it “Parthiban.
Leo’s movie prominently starred Thalapathy Vijay, which turned out to be a blockbuster in cinemas. At present, the actor is engaged in making his film Thalapathy 69 with director H Vinoth. After completing this project, he plans to concentrate on his political pursuits, and there are rumors that he may be retiring from acting. Whether Vijay will take up Leo 2 or not remains to be seen.
Despite this, Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming movie titled Coolie. This film represents his initial partnership with Rajinikanth. In a recent conversation about the Thalaivar-led project, the director expressed his intention to complete the shooting within the next six months.
Since Rajinikanth had a planned operation at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai, he is expected to return to the movie sets on October 16th.
Among the talented cast gracing this film alongside me is Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Upendra – along with several other esteemed artists.
