Actor Siddique has been called in for more questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding a rape case, specifically at the Cantonment Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram. However, it’s been mentioned that he hasn’t been cooperating with the investigation as claimed by officials. As reported by The Statesman, Siddique was questioned on Saturday at the police station by a team led by Superintendent of Police Merin Joseph.
The team stated that he failed to give straightforward responses when asked questions. In the investigation, it’s said that the actor claimed to be completely unaware of where his phone, which he had with him during the event related to the case, was located.
The report claims that the investigative group accused Siddique of failing to provide digital evidence and only presenting bank statements instead.
Since Siddique refused cooperation during the investigation, it seems the Special Investigation Team decided against sending further summons for him to attend interrogation.
Officials plan to inform the Supreme Court that the actor has stopped collaborating with the ongoing inquiry. They also aim to petition for his arrest once the case is brought up again, emphasizing his unwillingness to aid the investigation.
Previously, Siddique was questioned by the Special Investigation Team on October 7 regarding the sexual assault accusations against him. These accusations stem from a complaint made by an actress who claims he sexually assaulted her at the Mascot Hotel in Kochi back in 2016. The report suggests that this act is what he’s alleged to have done.
The actress informed the authorities that the actor had gone to a local theater in Thiruvananthapuram for a sneak peek of the Malayalam movie titled Sukhamayirikkatte. There, Siddique tricked her into joining him at a hotel, where he assaulted and raped her. She stated, “I was confined to a room. He harmed me physically and convinced me it was acceptable if I didn’t set boundaries.
