Vesper's Host guide - Destiny 2

As a seasoned Guardian with countless hours under my belt in the Destiny universe, I can confidently say that the Vesper’s Host dungeon in Destiny 2: Revenant is a thrilling addition to the game. Having ventured through the Deep Stone Crypt on Europa before, I was eager to take on this familiar location once more.

The Vesper’s Host is the cave discovered when Destiny 2: Revenant was released. This cave made its appearance on October 11, 2024, and invited players to return to Europa for an adventure that echoed the Deep Stone Crypt. This guide will lead you through the entire Vesper’s Host, break down each encounter, and suggest optimal strategies for defeating the boss, including recommended damage-per-second (DPS) options.

Vesper’s Host Contest Mode & Power

Vesper's Host guide - Destiny 2

On October 11, 2024, Vesper’s Stronghold in Destiny 2 becomes the first dungeon ever to introduce a Time-Limited mode called Contest Mode, which lasts for the initial 48 hours of its release. Once the first three teams have successfully conquered the dungeon under Contest Mode, the Normal Mode will be unlocked. Players who manage to finish the dungeon in Contest Mode will earn themselves the Orbital Tournament emblem as a reward.

To tackle every encounter in the dungeon efficiently, players should aim to reach a Power level of 1985, which is the maximum level required for all encounters. For tips on boosting your Power level, check out our comprehensive guide on power-leveling.

How to start Vesper’s Host

Vesper's Host guide - Destiny 2

As a gamer, I need to grab the Rogue Network mission from ol’ Spider first if I want to dive into Vesper’s Host. You can find him hangin’ out in the Last City’s social zone. Once I’ve got his quest tucked away in my inventory, I’ll be all set to kick off that dungeon adventure!

Activation

As an enthusiast, my mission during the Activation event is to locate and energize specific panels utilizing the Scanner and Operator enhancements, all while adhering to a strict timeframe. Achieving the correct combination of activated panels triggers nuclear cores to merge. My task then becomes gathering three nukes and returning them to the central room. To initiate the encounter, simply engage with the orb.

In the realm of gaming, I’ve found that the Scanner and Operator perks function much like they do in Deep Stone Crypt and Operation: Seraph’s Shield. The Scanner empowers me to spot crucial panels and interactive spots illuminated, while the Operator allows another player to fire at those same highlighted areas. Once I grab a buff, a debuff timer kicks off. If I haven’t dropped either Scanner or Operator by the time that timer runs out, I’ll be taken down.

In this game, players should vanquish adversaries and explore wall-mounted panels. The player equipped with a Scanner should shout out which panels aren’t glowing. Meanwhile, the Operator must fire at all the appropriate panels within a specific area. If done successfully, the message “A nuclear core is starting to fuse” will appear. However, shooting an incorrect one results in immediate death.

Gather the nuclear devices from each room and transport them back to their original locations. This process needs to be repeated thrice, in two additional areas. When you’ve placed three nukes, the encounter will end, a reward chest will appear to your right, and you’ll gain permission to advance further.
