It’s filled with adorable meet-ups, spirited disagreements, intense love scenes, melancholic moments, a humorous scene involving chocolate-covered biscuits on Alma’s pregnant belly in the bathtub, and an abundance of candles – an overwhelming number of candles.
Michael Rechtshaffen from The Hollywood Reporter noted that although the film “While We Live in Time” and its themes may not be as emotionally uplifting as Crowley’s Oscar-nominated movie “Brooklyn”, it still manages to deliver an incredibly honest perspective on mortality that feels remarkably life-affirming.
