As a long-time fan of Days of Our Lives, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Casey Moss’ return as JJ Deveraux! Having followed JJ’s journey since his debut back in 2004, I can relate to many of his struggles and emotions, especially given my own life experiences.
Enthusiasts of the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” are abuzz with excitement over the prospect of Casey Moss’s return as JJ Deveraux. Although some information about his comeback has surfaced, viewers remain curious about when they might catch a glimpse of him on television again.
Here is more about Casey Moss’ return to Days of Our Lives as JJ Deveraux.
When Will Casey Moss’ JJ Deveraux return to Days of Our Lives?
Casey Moss is reportedly set to return to Days of Our Lives as JJ Deveraux on October 17.
It’s been confirmed that Casey Moss will reprise his role as JJ Deveraux on Days of Our Lives, but fans have had to wait until October 17 (as per Soap Opera Digest) to see him back on screen on Peacock. The timing is interesting because Jack and Jennifer, JJ’s parents, are in Salem again following Abigail’s unexpected resurrection. This coincides with Abigail and Chad’s plans to remarry, though JJ remains oblivious to the fact that her return is part of a larger plot.
Initially introduced in 2004 on the screen, the character of JJ Deveraux was portrayed by different young actors prior to Moss assuming the role during adolescence. Throughout this period, JJ encountered substantial difficulties, among which were battles with drug abuse resulting in his arrest.
In a recent interview, Moss stated that he recognizes many traits in JJ that mirror his own younger self. He described JJ as a character who is often misunderstood and emotionally raw, finding it difficult to articulate his feelings. Moss also highlighted that JJ’s portrayal on the show stems from his own experiences of having a tumultuous childhood, which provided him with insights into expressing such complex emotions effectively. Casey Moss, who was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Best Younger Actor in 2018, departed from the series back in 2020. Since then, he has appeared as a guest star on occasion, such as during Abigail’s funeral last July (2022). On the show, JJ traveled to Africa following his grandfather’s demise, but he made a brief return later that same year.
