As a seasoned gamer with years of Team Fortress 2 under my belt, I can confidently say that the arrival of Scream Fortress is like the gaming world’s own version of Halloween. The community-made maps and cosmetics have always been a highlight for me, and this year seems to be no different.
Each year, without fail, it’s a staple in the gaming world. Before many ongoing games rolled out annual Halloween events, Valve was one of the pioneers with Team Fortress 2’s Scream Fortress. Now, we have the 16th version of Scream Fortress, and as usual, the TF2 community has upped its game by designing seven fresh, holiday-themed maps for this special occasion.
Last year, I was blown away by the top-notch gaming experiences the TF2 community delivered – it felt like they were giving it their all! Compared to that, things have eased up a bit this year, even for Valve. But don’t worry, there are still seven amazing community-created maps set to join the holiday lineup. These include Toxic (King of the Hill), Darkmarsh (Control Point, Attack/Defense), Freaky Fair (Control Point), Dynamite (Payload, King of the Hill), Circus (Player Destruction), Outburst, and Blazehattan. Each map offers fresh holiday-themed backdrops across various game modes, with classic Scream Fortress elements like the Headless Horsemann and Merasmus thrown in for good measure. Some maps even have unique twists, such as Freaky Fair where Merasmus opens a potion shop to recover from his disastrous circus investment debt.
