As I stretch out for the pad I carelessly left on my bedside table, a shiver of apprehension races through me, stirring memories of its contents. “Hey, you’ve jotted things down here before. Was there something specific you needed to bring with you?

As soon as I reach him and he swivels to meet my gaze, our paths collide, resulting in a clumsy encounter. Archer, caught off-guard, stumbles slightly but manages to grab me for support, his eyes displaying surprise.

Could you please pass me that?” I stretch towards my notebook in haste, but he lifts an eyebrow, a hint of amusement glimmering from his warm-hued eyes as he maintains a hold on the notebook, elevating it high above him.

Why are you acting so frantic over whatever’s inside? Your curious gaze isn’t comforting, and when your face lights up with that playful smirk, I can tell I’m in a tricky situation.

I eagerly exclaim, “I’ll make your favorite cookies!”, as I stand up on my toes, almost reaching for my notebook, our bodies slightly touching.

He studies me intently, scanning my features as he asks, “I’ve dealt with negotiations within this home before. How many cookies are we talking about? When can I expect them? Will they retain their usual flavor? Are you intentionally planning to burn them?

I grumble softly,” I say quietly. Determined as I was to exact retribution for his extortion, it seemed he was too smart to accept my initial offer, knowing well that I am the child of two esteemed lawyers.

The archer chuckles heartily, showing great satisfaction, and gives my notebook a gentle shake. He then insists, “I want two dozen cookies!

Trying to grab my notebook, I hop onto my bed, but Archer moves swiftly. He retreats and I squint at him, jumping high only for him to catch me mid-air. Laughing, he holds me aloft with his arms beneath my knees, causing my notebook to drop in the process.

He proposes, “I’ll make cookies for you if you set me free,” he suggests, his eyes sparkling, evidently taking a chance. If only I had realized he cherished those cookies that much, I would have baked them for him more frequently.

“Let me go or I’ll bite you,” I warn, only half joking.

His gaze wanders across my face, and his smile fades as his eyes focus on my lips. “Do you want to bite me?” he whispers, his voice sounding changed. Suddenly, I feel butterflies in my stomach, and I become aware of the proximity between us, the firmness of his muscles against my softer body parts.

I murmur softly, nearly touching my lips to his for a hint, if I desired. Could he tolerate it? Since the moment he embraced me that night, I’ve pondered over what his taste might be. The idea unexpectedly surfaced and has lingered in my thoughts since.

As an ardent admirer, I find myself gently lowered by Archer, his gaze locked onto mine. “I wouldn’t dream of it,” he whispers, his tone hushed, leaving me momentarily puzzled if his statement holds a hidden meaning.

He reaches down, only to freeze, and I’m instantly reminded of my notebook. I glance down to find it opened on the page I’d bookmarked, the title of my list clear in a pretty, pink, large font.

“What the fuck is this?” Archer says, snapping up my notebook before I can.

I reach out to grab it from him, but alas, it’s already too far gone. His fingers close tighter around it, and an unfamiliar emotion flickers across his face. My arm drops limply by my side, as mortification sweeps over me. “It’s nothing,” I murmur. “Please, Arch, just act like you didn’t witness that.

His jaw twitches, and his breath quickens. He announces aloud, “People I’d like to lose my virginity to,” his gaze moving over the short list of two names. Theo’s name has been struck through, leaving only Archer Harrison, neatly written below. Oh, how I wish I hadn’t labeled these lists so obviously to avoid forgetting their purpose.

As a gamer, my face burns, and my pulse races uncontrollably. I can’t muster the courage to confront him, to endure his scrutiny—or even bear the thought of disdain reflected in his gaze.

“Why is my name on this list, Serenity? What the fuck is this list?”

I quickly close my mouth and clutch my notepad tightly against my chest, implying its clarity. “I’d say it speaks for itself,” I respond, though my voice betrays a hint of defensiveness, masking the guilt gnawing inside.

In this situation, the archer gently positions his finger beneath my jawline and asks me to focus on him. Initially, I feel the urge to decline, but he lets out a sigh and moves nearer. With a pleading tone, he says, “Serenity, could you do this for me?

I glance up with a rapid pulse, my heart pounding fiercely. His face holds no condemnation, only bewilderment and an unfamiliar emotion…something I’ve never witnessed before. “This was never intended for your eyes,” I confess. “I’ve been compiling these lists to move past Theo, and remember, I shared with you some things I wanted to explore, right? This is merely one of them. I understand that you wouldn’t want…to engage in this act with me, but I feel compelled to—

“Then you must know me better than I know myself.”

My eyes expand in surprise as his words sink in, a wave of shock washing over me. His hand pulls back, and an expression resembling regret seems to overtake him, like he just became aware of what he had said. “Serenity,” he starts to say, but the sound of approaching footsteps interrupts him.

I catch Ezra calling me as he peeks through the door that Dad left ajar suspiciously. “Won’t you keep it a secret from him?

Archer looks at me intently, rakes a hand through his hair, then mutters softly, “I suppose I should.” He lets out a sigh and retreats, his eyes moving towards the notebook I’m tightly gripping. “I won’t disclose it to him,” he continues, “but you and I will discuss this matter instead.
