The FBIs and the NCIS mothership episode counts have been (somewhat) confirmed

As a devoted fan who’s been following these shows since their inception, I can confidently say that the return of NCIS and FBI to our screens is like reuniting with long-lost friends. After the hiccups caused by the writer’s strike, it feels like we’re finally getting back to a steady diet of our favorite crime-fighting episodes.

Last year’s writers’ strike caused a decrease in episode count for several returning shows. Moving forward, as we resume our regular broadcasting schedule, what can we anticipate regarding shows such as NCIS and FBI for the upcoming 2024-2025 season? Specifically, how many episodes should we expect to see?

According to TVLine’s reports, although there isn’t a specific episode count for any of the shows, viewers can expect a satisfying number of episodes, surpassing the shorter seasons that have come before.

Regarding the TV series NCIS, it had just 10 episodes, one of which was dedicated to honoring the late David McCallum. The final episode hinted at a potential departure for Agent Jessica Knight, but latest updates assure us that actress Katrina Law will reappear in season 22.

How many episodes will be in NCIS season 22?

Although Steven D. Binder, the showrunner, hinted to TVLine that “we’re going to have a good season,” he didn’t confirm the exact number of episodes. Given that the crew has had extra time to work on the series rather than having a tight deadline, there’s a strong possibility they will be able to deliver more episodes compared to when the 23-24 TV season was running.

Over the past several years, around 20 to 22 episodes of the TV series NCIS have been produced, excluding those affected by the pandemic and writers’ strike. Assuming this trend continues, we can expect a good number of episodes in season 22, set to premiere on Monday, Oct. 14.

How many episodes will be in all of the FBI shows?

Regarding the three FBI series, set to resume on October 15, 2024, we currently only have information that they’ve been given “full-season orders.” Since season 5 of the original FBI had a full 23 episodes, it’s plausible that season 7 might follow suit. Previous seasons of FBI: International (season 2) and FBI: Most Wanted (season 4) each had 22 episodes, and their subsequent seasons were shortened due to the strike, but the number of episodes for future seasons has not been confirmed yet.

Despite the fact that the exact number of episodes isn’t confirmed as of now, it’s evident that we will be able to watch every episode in their entirety. This way, we can savor our beloved characters throughout each season during which they appear on screen.
