As a seasoned gamer and film enthusiast with a knack for spotting promising projects, I must admit that the announcement of “I Love Boosters” has me genuinely thrilled! With a talented cast like Demi Moore, Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, and LaKeith Stanfield on board, this movie is bound to deliver an engaging narrative.
Demi Moore, Keke Palmer, and more have been cast in Boots Riley’s new movie, I Love Boosters.
In simpler terms, “I Love Boosters” is the latest movie by Riley, who first made his mark as a feature film director in 2018 with “Sorry to Bother You”. He’s also known for producing the miniseries “I’m a Virgo”, which featured Jharrel Jerome.
According to a statement issued by NEON, it has been revealed that I Love Boosters will feature Palmer, Moore, Naomi Ackie, and LaKeith Stanfield as its stars. At present, further casting is being finalized, and it’s anticipated that the production of this film will commence this fall.
What else do we know about I Love Boosters?
As an enthusiast, I’d say “I’m captivated by ‘My Favorite Swindlers’ – a story revolving around a cunning group of individuals, who could be referred to as resourceful boosters or opportunistic shoplifters. They’ve set their sights on a ruthless fashion mogul.” At the moment, more details about the plot are being kept secret.
Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett are co-producing the film, in collaboration with Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read from Savage Rose Films. Mike Jackman and Gus Deardoff hold the roles of executive producers.
Palmer has made a name for herself by appearing in films like Hustlers from 2019 and Nope released in 2022. Additionally, she lent her voice to Izzy Hawthorne in Lightyear that came out in 2022. On the other hand, Moore has recently shared screen time with Margaret Qualley in The Substance, a movie that is now showing in cinemas across the U.S.
Ackie was recently seen playing Frida in 2024’s Blink Twice. She was also in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and portrayed Whitney Houston in 2022’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody. She’ll soon be seen in Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, which releases next January.
In “Sorry to Bother You”, Lakeith Stanfield portrayed the main character, Cassius “Cash” Green. His acting resume also features roles in 2013’s “Short Term 12”, 2015’s “Straight Outta Compton”, 2019’s “Uncut Gems”, 2021’s “Judas and the Black Messiah”, “The Harder They Fall”, released in 2021, as well as “Haunted Mansion” from 2023, among others.
A release date for I Love Boosters has not yet been announced by NEON.
