As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must admit that the gaming landscape has certainly evolved since the days of Pong and Pac-Man. The latest offering from Jackbox Games, The Jackbox Survey Scramble, seems to be an intriguing twist on the traditional multiplayer party game format.

Approximately a few weeks back, Jackbox Games unveiled their annual collection of games. The Jackbox Naughty Pack was another assortment of multiplayer party delights. But that’s not all from Jackbox Games this year. Surprisingly, they have another game in the pipeline titled The Jackbox Survey Scramble, and it’s set to debut within the next fortnight.

In contrast to previous Jackbox titles over the past decade, The Jackbox Survey Scramble offers a standalone game with various play modes. This unique game is constructed from hundreds of real-life surveys. Depending on the game mode, players will be asked to guess either the most or least common responses to these surveys.

According to Jackbox Games’ website, The Jackbox Survey Scramble offers four distinct game modes, each providing a unique twist on surveys and their responses. In Hilo (which is pronounced “high, low”), players attempt to guess the highest and lowest answers from a survey. Speed mode introduces a time constraint for added pressure. Squares requires players to predict survey answers to create a Tic-Tac-Toe pattern. Lastly, Bounce is a paddle game reminiscent of Breakout, where the paddle position adjusts based on the most and least popular survey answers.

The Jackbox Survey Scramble seems like something that needs hands-on experience to truly appreciate. Luckily, Steam users can give it a spin during Steam Next Fest, happening from October 14-21. If you find yourself intrigued and wanting more, the complete game won’t be far off. It’s set to launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV on Thursday, October 24.
