Having grown up with his iconic works like Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory, I’ve come to appreciate his unique storytelling and animation style.
Genndy Tartakovsky has officially announced the anticipated release window for Primal Season 3. The first season concluded in 2020, and Season 2 premiered on Adult Swim in 2022. Unfortunately, it appears that we’ll have to wait a bit longer as Season 3 is currently in production and won’t be released this year.
Genndy Tartakovsky confirms 2025 release date for Primal 3
According to its creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, we can expect Primal Season 3 to premiere in the year 2025. He’s shared some insights about where things currently stand in the development and creation process of this upcoming season.
During an interview with Collider, Tartakovsky revealed that Primal Season 3 is scheduled for release in 2025 and has already completed half of its animation work on the 10 planned episodes. In simpler terms, he shared that production on Season 3 is well underway, with over half of the animation for all ten episodes already completed.
The final episode is almost ready! That’s the tenth one, meaning we have 10 more hours to go. We’re currently in production, and I believe it’s going to leave everyone amazed.
About its story and animation, he added:
As a gamer, I’m wrapping up the final episode now, and surprisingly, about half of it feels like a rerun since it’s all pre-animated. While we’ve moved ahead with post-production on the first two episodes, it seems we’ve conquered the steepest hill in this production journey. Now, we’re deep in the heart of creating!
Regarding Season 3, he hinted at something exciting but didn’t reveal specific details. However, during an interview with Comicbook.com in 2023, he shared some upcoming plans for the series titled “Primal.
“I have something in mind that is so spectacular I cannot wait to do it, and we’re trying to figure out how to do it. It’s a brand new world, but I’m so into it. I think everybody’s going to love it. It’s a very natural progression without giving anything away, but I’ve got more things for the Primal world and I cannot wait to do more.”
There is currently no exact release date for Primal Season 3’s release on Adult Swim in 2025.
