Ubisoft planning to release 10 Assassin's Creed titles in the next 5 years

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt and countless hours spent within the world of Assassin’s Creed, I can’t help but feel a mix of intrigue and apprehension regarding Ubisoft’s ambitious plan to release 10 new AC games in the next five years.

Currently, Ubisoft is facing challenges, and it’s not a secret. The reception for Star Wars Outlaws was disappointing, XDefiant isn’t meeting expectations, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been postponed, and their stock value is at its lowest in a decade. According to recent reports, Ubisoft’s proposed solution seems to be an increase in the number of Assassin’s Creed games they release. However, one must wonder if this strategy will truly address their current predicament.

Can Assassin’s Creed save Ubisoft?

As an avid fan, I can’t contain my excitement after learning some insider scoop! Apparently, Ubisoft is planning to unleash no less than 10 new Assassin’s Creed games over the next five years. This tidbit of info comes straight from a trusted source within Ubisoft. They mentioned that we can expect a variety of Assassin’s Creed (AC) titles, including top-tier AAA games, remakes, and even mobile spinoffs. The journey kicks off next year with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, followed by a fully-fledged mobile game named Assassin’s Creed “Jade”.

Given the challenging situation Ubisoft currently finds itself in, it seems quite possible that these ambitious plans won’t materialize. In fact, the concept of releasing ten games over five years might be obsolete; the recent delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as reported last week, has allegedly affected the entire Assassin’s Creed development plan according to an internal email from Vice President and Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté. However, it’s hard to predict, Ubisoft might just pull off a surprise and put all their resources into making these games happen.

However, producing ten more Assassin’s Creed games might not satisfy the players who are growing weary of the series. Perhaps it would be wiser for them to branch out and explore different intellectual properties or even create new ones, from a gamer’s perspective.
