The unfounded and offensive remarks made by Konda Surekha towards one of our most revered figures in the film industry have not only tarnished the reputation of a respected politician but also tested the resolve of a man who embodies grace, humility, and resilience.
The recent derogatory comments made by the Telangana political leader Konda Surekha on the relationship and divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu have been receiving criticisms online and the whole film industry has taken a stand on the matter. As per the latest development related to the controversy, Nagarjuna Akkineni will be filing another Rs 100 crore defamation lawsuit against Konda Surekha.
According to News18, the esteemed actor Nagarjuna voiced his displeasure over the minister’s comments and stated, “Yesterday we submitted a criminal defamation case, and we are preparing to file another lawsuit for defamation worth 100 crores against her. Her offensive remarks should not be allowed to go unchecked. She has recently said she is retracting her statements and offering an apology to Samantha. But what about my family? No words of apology have been extended towards me or my family!” He emphasized that the harm inflicted went beyond a mere apology.
Additionally, when questioned if a apology from Konda Surekha would result in the dismissal of the lawsuit, Nagarjuna unequivocally refused this suggestion. Instead, he criticized the politician for using the entertainment industry as an easy target.
Now, this isn’t just about me or my family anymore. The lies have spread much farther than us. I’m hopeful that our lawsuit against her serves as a warning to other political figures, discouraging them from misusing our names in such defamatory ways.
For those who might not be familiar with the ongoing dispute, Konda Surekha has claimed that KTR played a significant part in the separation of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She asserted that KTR requested for Samantha to be handed over to him as a condition for sparing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from destruction.
Furthermore, Konda Surekha claimed that Samantha’s rejection was the cause of her separation from Naga Chaitanya. Subsequently, after a public uproar, the minister issued an apology; however, the harm had already been inflicted, resulting in legal proceedings initiated by both KTR and Nagarjuna.
Previously, the actor from Naa Saami Ranga had voiced concerns to the minister, alleging that she was trying to harm the standing and public perception of his family. Among the accusations leveled against Konda Surekha are those related to criminal libel.
