The Simpsons mobile game shutting down after 12 years

As a long-time fan of The Simpsons and a devoted player of The Simpsons: Tapped Out, I must say this news has left me feeling like Homer after finding out his favorite donut shop is closing down – utterly devastated! For over a decade, this game has been an integral part of my daily routine, providing endless hours of entertainment and virtual Springfield fun.


On September 26th, the genuine Simpson’s: Tapped Out Facebook page shared a heartfelt goodbye, letting followers know that the game would be ending. Initially, many believed it was merely an unkind prank, but regrettably, it wasn’t.

EA shutting down Tapped Out for good

The game, which currently has in-app purchases disabled, is set to be completely removed from all app stores on October 31st. If you want to play it one more time before it disappears, you might want to download it as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to enjoy playing The Simpsons: Tapped Out for a prolonged period anymore, as the developers of EA Mobile plan to close the game’s servers on January 24th. From that date forward, the game will no longer be accessible.

The game was up and running for more than twelve years, had 308 updates in which 831 characters and a total of 1,463 quest lines were added. Quite the feat!
