Darshan Thoogudeepa's son Vineesh meets him in jail; here’s what they talked about

As a dedicated follower of Kannada cinema, I have always admired the charisma and talent of Darshan Thoogudeepa. However, the recent turn of events in his life has left me saddened and concerned. Seeing him spend over 100 days in jail, away from his family, is heart-wrenching.

Since his arrest on a murder charge in June, Darshan Thoogudeepa has been making news headlines. Despite multiple attempts, the court has denied him bail. Currently, he is serving over 100 days in prison. Lately, his son Vineesh Thoogudeepa and wife Vijayalakshmi went to visit him at the jail for a meeting. It’s important to note that this was the first time Vineesh had seen his father since Darshan’s arrest in the Renuka Swamy case.

According to reports, Darshan’s son was moved to tears upon witnessing his father’s state. They were granted a 40-minute visit with the Sandalwood actor. Darshan expressed, as reported by Vijaya Karnataka, “I will emerge soon. I will spend time with you.” Later, Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, and their son, Vinessh, paid a visit to the Kanaka Durga Temple in the city, offering a special prayer to the goddess.

On October 3, 2024, Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in prison due to the murder case of Renuka Swamy, received a health examination within the prison facilities. The jailed actor had been experiencing back pain for some duration, so they arranged for his medical care.

According to Vijaya Karnataka, doctors are regularly checking up on Darshan Thoogudeepa’s health every other day. Medical experts suggest that the actor involved in a murder case requires scanning, but he has refused this medical procedure. Instead, he will be given painkillers for relief. After reviewing his medical report, the jail authorities will make decisions about additional treatment, as well as whether to provide him with a bed and pillow in his cell.

Instead, it’s set for October 4, 2024, that the court will listen to Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowda, and their co-accused in the murder case.
